Hey you! Yeah, I’m talking to you. How do you know I’m talking to you? Because you’re reading this. And if you’re reading this, then this is definitely meant for you. Whether you’ve heard this before, or this is the first time you’ve ever heard it, what I’m about to say is important. Because it’s important to everyone.
You know that thing in your life, that thing that sucks. That part of your life that you wish you could change. Maybe it’s your job, where it’s taking you… or not taking you. Maybe it’s a relationship that you are in, and it’s not going the way you’d like it to. Maybe it’s the relationship that you’re not in, but you wish you were. Or maybe it’s that secret. You know what I’m talking about – that one thing that sits in the background. When it’s just you by yourself with just your own thoughts, it creeps up to the front of your mind. It gnaws at you all day. It’s like you can’t stop thinking about it. And you’re scared, scared of what might happen if that one someone, or anyone, knew about it. What would people think?
Whatever it is, deep down inside, you know that you weren’t meant to live like this, and there’s just something holding you back. Keeping you trapped. And try as you might, you just can’t seem to fix it. It’s almost like there is some unseen, dark something or somebody who keeps kicking you down. It keeps you trapped even when … no, especially when all you want is to be free.
I want to let you in on a little secret. You can be free. I know it doesn’t seem like it right now. I know that when you are in your darkest moment, freedom from this thing sounds like something someone made up, like just a coping mechanism. But there is freedom. And I think you know it, deep down in your bones. Why else is there that part of you that senses “it’s not supposed to be like this”?
And that hope inside of you has an answer. It’s more than a self-help book. It’s more than just some new philosophy or psychology designed to make you think happy thoughts … because, let’s be honest, we aren’t just looking for a new way to fool ourselves into thinking everything is alright. We need something real! Something that goes beyond positive thinking. Something that goes beyond our own circumstances. Something that goes beyond just this physical stuff. We want something that touches us, moves us, relates to us. The sort of thing that can break our hearts … or, better yet, make us fall in love. Actually, this something is starting to sound a lot more like a Someone.
I’ve met this Someone.
I want you to meet him too.
I know that sounds scary. Some of us aren’t very good at meeting new people. We have a lot of insecurities. We have a lot of junk we just don’t want anyone knowing about. But that’s okay. This Someone that I know is all about taking care of other people’s junk. It’s kind of his thing.
Anyhow, I’d like you to meet him. If that sounds at all like something you’d like to try, let me know. I promise you, he makes all the difference in the world.
